Use Pantone Bridge to Manage Color

pantone_bridge_swatch

Many of the spot Pantone Colors cannot be matched in the CMYK color space. Pantone Color Bridge lists best match CMYK equivalents.

Pantone Color Bridge is the most widely used swatch book in the line of many Pantone's color matching products. It allows us to match pre-mixed inks (also known as "Spot", "Solid" or "PMS" colors) as close as possible using CMYK process.

This relatively new book, previously known as Solid to Process Guide, is printed at a higher screen line value, brighter paper and digital screening process. It is more accurate and better reflects the latest printing conditions and technologies.

  • Comes on coated and uncoated paper stocks
  • Shows side-by-side Pantone Solid Color and the same color reproduced in CMYK
  • Lists RGB and HEX recommended values for optimal display of Pantone Colors on monitors and Web pages

CMYK Value Differences
Digital screening technology enables smaller screen tint increments and closer CMYK matching to Solid colors. Because of this finer color tuning capability, some of the formulas used in this book had to be adjusted. That's why CMYK percentages in Color Bridge may be slightly different from the conversion tables that come preinstalled in the professional design applications. If you are a marketing manager working on native files and would like to take advantage of Pantone's recommended conversion tables, Pantone Color Bridge Digital Color Guide can be downloaded free from www.pantone.com.
